I am a novice PCB designer, so I needed a fair amount of guidance in designing Sotol. The best resource I found was this guide. The guide focuses on the open source software Kicad.

Existing work attribution

Designing Sotol was made easier thanks to the existing open source designs and research that companies like Adafruit and Sparkfun make available.

• The basis for the PB86 step switch breakaway boards came from this Adafruit PB86 Step Switch Breakout-Friendly Breakout PCB.
• The breakaway tabs between the step switch PCBs were designed according to the findings of this Sparkfun whitepaper.
